David Francis

During David’s career in IT and compliance he has spent 10 years as a Data Protection Officer. His experience spans several highly regulated industries from Financial Services (Insurance – Lloyd’s, Motor, Household) to Telecoms, Oil and Gas.

David leads Oyster IMS’ Information Security division, where his deep understanding brings together all aspects of data protection, information governance and information security. These skills have been invaluable in the implementation of Records Retention and Disposition processes, meeting Data Protection and UK FCA SYSC requirements, as well as supporting multiple organisations in achieving ISO 27001 certification.

Significant data protection career highlights include project responsibility for GDPR compliance at a major Lloyd’s of London Insurer, and the successful conclusion of a multi-jurisdictional data breach, liaising with lawyers and regulators in UK, EU, US, Singapore and Bermuda.

David’s key qualifications include:

• BSI Certified ISO 27001 Lead Implementer
